Born in Paris and raised in Toulouse, France,Jerome started showing his interest for music by the age of 6. Hestudied the cello, piano and guitar. As a teenager, he studied Harmonyand composing followed by his final instrument, the tenor saxophone. In France,he joined several student bands and studied Bebop with some of themasters in Strasbourg. He learned Portuguese when he went to live in Portugal and started playing for the Jazz Band from the Tuna Academica de Coimbra as a soloist. The band traveled around Portugal and Europe in 1997. During this time, he also joined the Belle Chase Hotel band. In 1998, he came to Brazil and met some of the biggest artists such as Lenine and Filo Machado. Amazed by the nightlife in Sao Paulo, he decided to give up his career as an economist to dive into the music scene. Hestudied with saxophonist Caca Malaquias (Banda Mantiqueira), Demetrio Lima (JazzSinfonica), Rogerio Costa (Aquilo Del Nisso) and Paulo Oliveira (Orquestra Popular de Camara). He took brazilian music and band practice at ULM University of Music being Naylor Proveta Azevedo, Roberto Sion and Luis Miguel Wisnik some of his teachers. Jerome has played in the finest places in São Paulo, for concerts, events and celebrations. He has got several musical projects from Jazz, Bossa-Nova, Samba, Chorinho, Brazilian Pop Music, to Funk. From those projects, we must mention Le Petit Comité, leaded by the vibraphonist Andre Juarez, which latest CD has been recorded in the beginning of 2010 and will be released soon.
After a successful experience playing in Beijing during 2007, Jerome came back to China in 2010 for another year. He was invited to Shanghai to perform in the International Expo with the show Terra Incognita representing the city of Macau. From then on, Jerome kept on performing together with great names of Chinese music, as well as Brazilian guest artists, such as Filo Machado. In 2011, Jerome is back in Sao Paulo, where he presents the latest album of the quintet Le Petit Comité.
